EPA and spring: original parts are still used
The Touratech Suspension EVO UP upgrade for the rear shock absorber of the BMW R 1200 GS / R 1250 GS allows the use of the brand new electronic damper of the EVO series in connection with the spring and the electronic spring preload (EPA) of the original equipment. “Due to the possibility of continuing to use the spring and EPA, the upgrade via EVO UP is particularly recommended for motorcycles with relatively low mileage,” explains Touratech Suspension Product Manager Jo Glaser. “In this way, the machine can be perfectly prepared for a planned adventure trip or simply receives a significant plus in terms of chassis quality”.
Semi-active damping adjustment at the highest level
The advantages of the system: With the new electronic valve, the signals from the vehicle’s own sensors are to be processed with unprecedented precision. Whether on the road, off-road or on rapidly changing road surfaces – the chassis always reacts to all eventualities in real time. The low friction seal combines the best durability with a low breakaway torque, which should ensure sensitive response in all driving situations. The new design of the Hyper Flow damper piston, which suppresses oil foam formation even at very high damper speeds, ensures consistent performance under high loads. And with the convenient adjuster for the compression damping, individual and reproducible suspension setups can be implemented very easily.
