Tour of Turkey: Final stage to Istanbul canceled due to storms – Patrick Bevin takes overall victory

Patrick Bevin is the overall winner. The New Zealander from Israel-Premier Tech took the turquoise jersey from Argentinian Eduardo Sepulveda (Drone Hopper) on the 7th stage and won a multi-stage race for the first time in his career.

The final stage was to run over 136 kilometers, the finale was planned on a circuit in Istanbul to be ridden four times, on which a climb was also to be mastered.

Bevin, 31, was 20 seconds ahead of Australian Jay Vine (Alpecin – Fenix), with Sepulveda third, 40 seconds back.

The duo ended the tour in the same positions as in the previous year, when the Spaniard José Manuel Díaz (Delko) surprisingly prevailed.

Eritrean Dawit Yemane (+1:33), driving for the German Team Bike Aid, finished seventh overall. The Belgian Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin – Fenix) won the points classification, the American Noah Granigan (Wildlife Generation) secured the mountain jersey. Bike Aid finished second in the team ranking behind Equipo Kern Pharma.
