The Tour de Pologne is fast approaching. Today, this year’s 81st edition of the Tour of Poland was officially presented. The routes of the 7 stages, the invited teams, and the classifications in which the cyclists will compete were presented.

There will be four jerseys up for grabs – a yellow one for the winner of the ORLEN general classification, a blue one for the most active LOTTO cyclist, a white one for the best Energa Grupa ORLEN sprinter and a blue polka-dot one for the winner of the PZU mountains classification.

Trasa Tour of Poland 2024:

Stage 1, August 12: Wrocław – Karpacz, 159 km

The opening stage of this year’s Tour de Pologne will start in Wrocław and end in Karpacz. The initial part of the 159-kilometre route will be flat, but with time the road will start to rise. The peloton will pass through Sobótka, well-known to cycling fans, as well as Przełęcz Tąpadł, Świdnica, Czarny Bór and Przełęcz Kowarska, located 20 kilometres before the finish line. This will be located at Orlinek in Karpacz, where we will find out the first leader of the race.

Stage 2, August 13: Mysłakowice – Karpacz, 15 km (ITT)

The next day the competitors will remain in Karpacz – the cyclists will finish once more at Orlinek, but this time individually. This will be an individual time trial stage, held over a distance of 15 kilometers. The second stage will be one of the key stages in this year’s edition of the Tour de Pologne and will certainly set the general classification.

Stage 3, August 14: Wałbrzych – Duszniki-Zdrój, 156 km

The third stage of the race will be held from Wałbrzych to Jamrozowa Polana in Duszniki-Zdrój. The route resembles last year’s, but differs in the lack of a climb to Zieleniec and a double climb to Karłów. These will not be the only obstacles – the cyclists will ride up the Walim Pass, the Jugowska Pass and St. Anna Mountain. Last year, Rafał Majka triumphed in Duszniki-Zdrój, winning the finish from a reduced group.

Stage 4, August 15: Kudowa-Zdrój – Prudnik, 195 km

Sprinters will have to wait three days for their first chance. On Polish Army Day, competitors will face a relatively flat, less than 200-kilometer stage. Along the way, they will pass Bystrzyca Kłodzka, Przełęcz Jaworowa, Kamieniec Ząbkowicki, Ząbkowice Śląskie and Otmuchów, where the intermediate, mountain and special bonuses will be located. The fastest competitors in the field should compete at the finish in Prudnik, the city of Stanisław Szozda.

Stage 5, August 16: Katowice – Katowice, 187.6 km

The fifth stage of this year’s Tour de Pologne will be held on a route with a start and finish in Katowice, but the lion’s share will lead through the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland, along the Trail of the Eagles’ Nests. The peloton will ride through the streets of Silesia and Małopolska and will visit Jaworzno, Ojców, Bukowno and Mysłowice, among others. The route is full of climbs, but it should once once more be a chance for sprinters.

Stage 6, August 17: Wadowice – BUKOVINA Resort

Tour de Pologne returns to Bukowina Tatrzańska! The royal stage of the race will take place on the route from Wadowice to BUKOVINA Resort. The route will be full of climbs, which will be especially noticeable in the second part of the race. The competitors will ride through the Bukovina Wall twice and will conquer the Harnaś Wall once. The sixth stage will most likely be the last chance to change the general classification, although it cannot be forgotten that last year the victory was decided by a flying bonus in the last stage.

Stage 7, August 18: Wieliczka – Krakow

Traditionally, everything will end in Krakow, but before the competitors reach Błonia, they will start from the Wieliczka Salt Mine. The hilly route will lead through Myślenice, a categorized climb to Bieńkówka, and then the peloton will head towards Krakow, fighting on special bonuses in Kaszów and Czernichów along the way. The stage will be crowned by three well-known laps around Krakow’s Błonia.

This is the full route of this year’s Tour de Pologne. At the start, we will of course see all the teams racing with a World Tour license, as well as the Polish national team, Tudor Pro Cycling Team, Israel – Premier Tech and Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team, in whose colors Kamil Małecki and Szymon Sajnok race.

Journalists Naszosie.pl will be present on the Tour de Pologne route and traditionally will provide a text report from all stages of the race!
