President Faustin Archange Touadera visited on the morning of Monday, July 18, 2022 the headquarters of the European Union Council Mission in the Central African Republic (EUAM).
The Head of State was welcomed by Mr. Douglas Carpenter and Colonel Paulo Soares respectively Head of the European Union Delegation and Commander of EUAM/RCA at the end of the mission.
After a presentation of discovery of their different principles, the President of the Republic and his delegation were informed about the mission of EUAM which is “to provide strategic advice to the Ministry of the Interior and Public Security as well as to the Internal Security Forces, the police and the gendarmerie, in order to support the reform of the security sector in the CAR.
A site visit, followed by the cutting of the symbolic ribbon of a space dedicated to catering marked the end of this visit.
“Today’s visit to the EUAM/RCA headquarters gives me the opportunity to salute the success of this important mission, which is one of the manifestations of the solidarity and the irresistibility of the still active cooperation between the Republic Central African Republic and the European Union. Through this visit, I would like to salute the success of the mission despite the difficult context and reiterate my commitment to continue this good cooperation with the European Union”. These are the words that President TOUADERA wrote in the guestbook in which he affixed his signature.
The EUAM/RCA Head of Mission, Paulo Soares, welcomed the presence of the Head of State, Faustin Archange Touadera. He affirmed that it is particularly a dream for him to receive at the headquarters of his institution the Head of State at the end of his mission, not only as Head of Mission, but also as his adviser on internal security.
