Tottenham made tactical changes in the second half, making substitutions that proved decisive. T. Werner came on for B. Johnson in the 31st minute, and R. Bentancur replaced P. M. Sarr in the 46th minute. These changes gave the team new energy and it paid off when S. Romero scored against Tottenham in the 64th minute. As the game heated up, the intensity on the pitch led to a series of yellow cards. D. Kulusevski and B. Davies received yellow cards for Tottenham, while T. Partey was sent off for Arsenal. In the 87th minute, a penalty was awarded against Tottenham, which was successfully converted by Son Heung-Min, putting an end to the match. With time running out, both teams made further substitutions to try and secure the three points. In the 88th minute, G. Lo Celso appeared in Tottenham’s lineup instead of B. Davis, and in the 89th minute, M. Odegaard appeared in Arsenal’s lineup instead of J. Kivior. In the end, Tottenham’s valiant second-half effort was not enough to complete the return leg, with Arsenal claiming a comfortable 3-2 victory. The match demonstrated the competitive spirit of both teams and had fans looking forward to the next meeting in the always hot North London derby.
