At least 10 people were killed in an attack on a soccer field in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. The Israeli military said a rocket fell on the Majdal Shams area and hit a soccer field. Most of the victims were reportedly children and teenagers between the ages of 10 and 20. The IDF blamed the attack on Hezbollah, but Mohamad Afif, the head of the press office, denied “any relation to the Majdel Shams incident” and said “all the accusations are false.”

Israeli forces reject the denial: “According to the assessments made by the IDF and the intelligence information available to us, the rocket fire on Majdal Shams was carried out by the terrorist group Hezbollah. Hezbollah is behind the rocket fire that hit the Majdal Shams soccer field and caused many civilian casualties, including children, this evening.” Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz said he spoke to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after Hezbollah’s attack on Majdal Shams, without providing details of the conversation. “There is no doubt that Hezbollah has crossed all the red lines,” he told Channel 12, reported by the Times of Israel. “We are facing an all-out war,” he added, insisting that Israel will exact an even higher price from Hezbollah.
