Two clean sheets in the last two rounds have contributed to Chelsea’s strong start to the Premier League season.
In fifth place after five rounds, the Blues are just three points off the top of the table, keeping them in the hunt for a top-four finish at the start of the campaign.
Signed to make up the defensive sector this season, defender Tosin Adarabioyo has been important for Enzo Maresca.
After the victory over West Ham United in the London derby, Tosin Adarabioyo spoke about the result and the team’s current situation.
“It was amazing, a great result, so I feel great. It was very impressive – three goals and a clean sheet, exactly what we came here to do and we did the job. “It being a derby just makes it a bit more special that we came here and got the win. Obviously it’s great to go out and play my first Premier League game and get the best result as well.”
Chelsea’s squad has been shaped between seasons, with more depth added to positions including defence.
Tosin Adarabioyo came off the bench during the 1-0 win over Bournemouth, starting against West Ham United and commented on the results.
“Obviously, [a titularidade] It came after a good result at Bournemouth when I came in and we kept another clean sheet, and today we did it again. So I’m very happy. I think everyone knows our team is phenomenal. You can take any player, you can change any player and they’ll still be top-class.
Robert Sanchez has been fundamental to the good results at the start of the season, and although there are still moments that give fans butterflies, the Spaniard has had good performances.
Adarabioyo praised the goalkeeper and his form, contributing to two consecutive clean sheets.
“He [Robert Sanchez] is huge. You can see he commits to coming and collecting a lot of balls. He just makes our job a lot easier.”
Concluding the interview, Adarabioyo spoke about what the team can achieve this season, which has been promising at the beginning of Enzo Maresca’s work.
“Every player aims for the top, every player aims for the best, so we have to keep pushing ourselves, putting in the performance every weekend and see where it takes us.”
