An attentive employee of Deutsche Bahn informed the Neu-Ulm police station about a fully grown tortoise that had apparently become lost in the area of the train station in Nersingen.
Together with the informant, the turtle was rescued unharmed from the track bed by officers from the Neu-Ulm police station and then taken to a nearby animal shelter.
