Torreilles: the rugby festival returns to the heart of the village

2023-08-13 20:26:00

Created in 2000, the rugby festival has brought together fans of the oval ball for over twenty years.

It is an opportunity to bring together all those close to the rugby community, in particular the Torreillans but also the San Marinos and the Canétois since the club is now an agreement between the three municipalities. This edition will be marked by the return of the party to Place Louis-Blasi, in the heart of the village. After disappointing attempts which have taken her in recent years to the old cooperative cellar and then to the beach, “we are going to put the church back in the middle of the square”, rejoices Louis Carles, president of the Entente Salanque Côte Radieuse. 15 (SCR-15).

“This year, we made a special effort on the musical performances in order to please all those who travel” he confided to us. Indeed, it is the famous gypsy group Tekameli, internationally renowned who will introduce the evening, promising a wonderful musical, festive and warm moment. DJ Boa Noa will ensure the later hours. Between the two performances, the transition offers great promise with a high quality performance that will not fail to surprise the public.

For the party to be perfect and bring together, as usual, all generations, the following services will be provided on the square: bodega, fideua meal tray (€15), scooter-coffee maker, ice cream, inflatable games. A raffle will be organized by the SCR 15, club jerseys and year-round membership cards are up for grabs.

“We are going to ensure that all generations merge around their common passion for the oval ball and spend a warm and friendly evening”, summarizes Louis Carles, in all simplicity.

This Thursday, August 17 at 6:30 p.m.: go to the cemetery for the laying of wreaths. Then from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m., it will be a party on Place Louis-Blasi.
