Toronto Raptors win in overtime, 125-119 at Boston

BOSTON — Inspired in the final quarter and in overtime, the Toronto Raptors posted a 125-119 overtime win at Boston on Wednesday in their second preseason game.

Jeff Dowtin and Josh Jackson were most effective late in the game.

Dowtin scored his 10 points in the fourth quarter, where Toronto led 38-20.

Jackson scored seven points in a row and six more in overtime.

Montrealer Khem Birch totaled 10 points. He went two for two on three-pointers, including a success that gave his team a 119-114 lead in overtime.

DJ Wilson also distinguished himself beyond the 48 minutes.

He converted a shot into the void from Jackson into a basket making the score 121-114. Later he grabbed a big rebound on defense, before adding two free throws.

Like Jackson, Pascal Siakam and Precious Achiuwa delivered 13-point matches.

OG Anunoby added 10 points.

Fred VanVleet only hit the target once in 6 long distances (and three in 12 overall). He provided seven points.

Gary Trent scored nine points, one more than Scottie Barnes.

Jaylen Brown led Boston with 23 points, one more than Sam Hauser. Jayson Tatum had 18 points.

Last Sunday, Toronto beat the Jazz 114-82 in Edmonton.

The next game for Nick Nurse’s squad is Friday night in Houston.

After a home game once morest Chicago, the Raptors will conclude their preseason schedule once morest the Celtics on October 14, in Montreal.

Their regular season will begin on October 19 in Toronto, once morest the Cleveland Cavaliers.
