Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Conor Tmmins will be sidelined for an extended period due to a “significant” lower body injury, team head coach Sheldon Keefe reported Monday.

The 25-year-old suffered the injury following contact during Friday’s game once morest the Montreal Canadiens.

Timmins was acquired from the Arizona Coyotes last season. He recorded two goals and 14 points in 25 games.

John Klingberg, for his part, is bothered by a lower body injury and he did not skate Monday. His absence should not be too long in his case.

Barlow back in junior

The Winnipeg Jets have sent forward Colby Barlow to the OHL’s Owen Sound Attack.

The Manitoba team also removed forwards Chaz Lucius and Wyatt Bongiovanni from their camp. The latter will join the Manitoba Moose in the American League.

Barlow was the 18th pick in the last draft. He missed a good part of training camp not being 100% healthy. Last season, he scored 46 goals and amassed 79 points in 59 games.

Lucius, for his part, played during the most recent campaign with the Moose and the Portland Winterhawks in the WHL.
