With the onset of the first autumn cold, almost all of us are faced with colds. A runny nose, cough and general malaise are the main symptoms of ARVI, which take not only adults but also children by surprise.
To alleviate a cold, it is not always necessary to take medications; nevertheless, the body must fight viruses on its own. But you can alleviate the condition and ensure the supply of vitamins with the help of healthy hot drinks.
Why warm drinks are good for colds
If you’ve ever gone to the doctor with a cold, you’ve probably seen “drink plenty of warm drinks” on the list of treatment recommendations.
Warm drinks help cope with several manifestations of a cold at once. First, it prevents dehydration that occurs when body temperature rises. Secondly, it removes toxins that bacteria and viruses leave behind. And thirdly, it washes away plaque from the mucous membranes of the throat, preventing microorganisms from multiplying.
Regular warm water can handle all this, but teas, herbal infusions, and berry infusions can enhance the effect due to their vitamin composition.
