Top time at the Ironman premiere | Nachrichten.at

At the largest long-distance triathlon in the world, the 28-year-old from Steyr placed 74th in a world-class field with a time of 8:34 hours.

Honeder was dissatisfied with the time of 56 minutes over the 3.8-kilometer swim, as things were chaotic in the water at the beginning. On the bike, he showed his strong form and completed the 180 kilometers in his favorite discipline in 4:26 hours (42nd part-time). In the final marathon, things went well up to kilometer 25 before the strain became noticeable. Nevertheless, Honeder fought his way to the finish line with a marathon time of 3:08 hours. The Dane Magnus Ditlev won with a new world record of 7:23 hours. “These are the moments you train for every day. It was an unforgettable experience. I learned a lot and there is still potential for optimization,” says Honeder. (mini)
