Three games are scheduled over eight days during the “English Week”:
It starts with the home game tomorrow, Saturday, once morest the strong climber TSV Hartberg. This leads to a reunion with David Pichler. The ex-state champion moved from Steyr to East Styria for the new season. In addition, last year’s second division champions signed two strong legionnaires.
“We expect a very open game,” says UTC team boss Stefan Minichberger. The Steyrer have further rejuvenated the squad compared to the previous season. With U18 indoor vice state champion Tobias Leitner from Freistadt, 21-year-old Slovakian Lukas Pokorny and Czech Hynek Barton, who is only 19, new impetus should come into the team. “All three have great potential. But we shouldn’t expect miracles right away,” says the team boss.
The UTC team is once more led this year by the Ukrainian Vitaliy Sachko, who proved his form in St. Pölten when he defeated the current number 140 in the ATP world rankings with the Slovakian Jozef Kovalik. “We hope that we can use it as often as possible,” says Minichberger. The game starts tomorrow at the UTC facility in Gleink at 11 am.
