Citizens of Tajikistan and Ukraine are the absolute leaders in obtaining Russian citizenship in early 2023, should from the report of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
In the published list of individual indicators of the migration situation for January-March 2023, there are only 106,302 thousand foreigners who have acquired Russian citizenship. Tajikistan ranks first with 44,854 people, Ukraine is second with 22,039, Armenia is third with 8,941, Kazakhstan is fourth with 6,908, and Kyrgyzstan is fifth with 6,908.
Then Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Belarus and Turkmenistan follow with much more modest indicators. It should be noted that at the end of 2022, the number of those who received Russian citizenship decreased in 2022 for the first time in three years.
