The company specializing in medical assistance and airborne transport Airmedic falls under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA).

It had been put up for sale a little over a month ago, in the wake of the financial debacle of the Huot Group and its owner, Stéphan Huot.

This rescue measure should allow Airmedic to continue to develop and obtain approval for transactions or arrangements with its creditors.

“Airmedic is a thriving business and an essential link in the healthcare system. The implementation of a transaction in the coming weeks will allow us to focus on our development and growth projects,” commented Chief Executive Officer Sophie Larochelle.

When it was put up for sale, Airmedic had confirmed “to be looking for investors or strategic buyers”, in a statement made to TVA Nouvelles. However, the company refused to comment on possible buyers.

According to information obtained by our Bureau of Investigation, a few companies have shown interest in acquiring Airmedic, starting with the ambulance company Dessercom, whose head office is in Lévis.

Without confirming or denying this information, Dessercom had then indicated by email that it had “a growth plan” and that it was looking at “several alternatives” in order to diversify its sources of income in the field of health.
