Moto3 update: Penalties for three riders
The race stewards each imposed a grid penalty of three starting places on Moreira, Kelso and Veijer following training in the morning. The reason: “On the main straight, you were observed removing your left hand from the grip and moving it over the handlebars or partially gripping the handlebars. This violates the specific instructions given to Moto3 participants and teams.”

MotoGP qualifying: The votes of the top 3
Jorge Martin (Pramac-Ducati/1.): “I feel super strong. Breaking the lap record here in Motegi is something special. So I’m very happy. I also feel strong when it comes to the pace. Today I did twelve time attacks in a row. I’ll try in the race to fight for victory.”

Jack Miller (KTM/3.): “We found our form from Monday’s test in Misano. In India I struggled from the start, but here things went better straight away. I’ve been good here in the past. The track has a lot of grip and we can play with the bike . The boys worked hard and we got better from session to session. Our package is competitive – for this followingnoon and also for tomorrow.”

MotoGP Q2: Martin on pole ahead of Bagnaia
Nothing changes at the front. With his record time, Martin secures pole ahead of Bagnaia. Miller makes it to row one in third place. Bezzecchi did damage control following his crash and finished fourth. He shares row two with Binder and Di Giannantonio.
Marquez finished qualifying in seventh place, followed by the two Aprilias. Zarco, Raul Fernandez and Pol Espargaro drive in row four.

MotoGP Q2: Lead melts
Di Giannantonio pushes Bagnaia out of the first row and Marquez is also faster than the world champion. Shortly followingwards he lost further places to Miller and Aleix Espargaro. This means that Bagnaia is only sixth, but he is able to respond and moves up to second place. The gap to Martin is now only 0.171 seconds.

Bezzecchi follows Bagnaia on the track. Both need improvement. Bagnaia climbs from eighth place to third. Bezzecchi is currently in seventh place, while Marquez has hung on to Martin’s rear wheel.

MotoGP Q1: Marquez and Raul Fernandez continue
Marquez stays ahead with his best time from the first run and moves into the next round with Raul Fernandez. Quartararo cannot improve and remains stuck in fourth place behind Augusto Fernandez. Mir crashes and comes fifth.
Oliveira, Morbidelli and Nakagami don’t get past row six. Crutchlow, who probably had technical problems, managed a time in the end and left Bradl and Pirro behind.

Raul Fernandez can win once more, but remains second. Quartararo loses a lap because of the track limits and now also loses a position to Augusto Fernandez. Thats gonna be close.

Marquez follows Quartararo on the track, but neither can improve for the time being. But Raul Fernandez gets serious and improves to second place. This means Quartararo is only third.
