While the doors of the IAA in Munich close, the main players in Mobility are heading to the United States for the Detroit Auto Show.
Although losing momentum like its European friends, the Detroit Auto Show created in 1907, remains one of the most prestigious automotive events in the United States. The organizers must now look forward to an exciting 2023 edition. 35 marques responded to the call from the cradle of the automobile to offer visitors a meeting of brands worthy of its finest hours. The party will be held September 13-24 at Huntington Place.
Among the historic manufacturers producing models on American soil, we can cite Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Ford, GMC, Jeep, Kia, Lexus, Lincoln, Ram, Toyota and of course Volkswagen.
Europeans respond to Detroit’s call
Other major brands will be represented by their local distributors: Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Honda, Hyundai, Infiniti, Jaguar, Lamborghini, Land Rover, Maserati, McLaren, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Polestar, Porsche, Rolls-Royce et Volvo.

Letting the Chinese benefit from all the media exposure is fine for a while, but on very protectionist American soil it would be a serious strategic error. Tesla, which has not participated since 2015, will also be there. It remains to be seen which vehicles the manufacturer will bring to its stand. It would not be surprising if the long-awaited Cybertruck make an appearance full of panache in order to support the new Tesla Model 3 presented this week. It will certainly still be too early to see the new Model Y Juniper projectbut who knows…
