Despite a week that was relatively less advantageous than usual in terms of price reductions in flyers, a grocer still won the prize because of its many good discounts.

Among the discounts worth mentioning this week are the green or romaine lettuce from Quebec is $0.99 at IGA and the Iceberg lettuce is available for $0.84 at Walmart.
“In the case of Walmart it’s a little cheaper, but it’s imported. We have a nice selection on the IGA side with local harvests, we take advantage of it.”
Whole seedless watermelon (9lb) is also 3.48 at Maxi.
“It’s really not expensive, a watermelon like that is heavy, it’s big, it’s expensive to transport so it shows what a great bargain it is at that price and it must take advantage of it.”
San Daniele prosciutto is also $2.99 for 100g at IGA.
“It is extremely rare that we have this price, it is the best price for 1 year, explains Mr. Gagné-Bérubé. It’s normally around $6 per 100 grams. It’s a great bargain.”
The 190g fresh Saputo mozzarella is only $3 at Walmart.
“We have never recorded such a low price for the brand and the format, so it’s very interesting,” continues the founder of Glouton.

“It’s still a good price for albacore tuna. If you like this variety, it’s a good price.

“It’s a good price, however, I would tell you to check the packaging at the grocery store because sometimes there are small discrepancies in weight.”

“It’s a fair price, but sometimes buying the sausages already made by the pound, you get a better price. We just have to undo them ourselves and enjoy the flesh.”
