Detry returned a card of 71, one under par, following five birdies, two bogeys and a double bogey. He started well, making birdies at holes 1, 4, 6 and 8. After a bogey at the 10th hole, he put a new birdie on his card at the 12th hole. A new bogey, at hole 14, and especially a double bogey at the last hole, pushed him back in the rankings.
With his total of 206, Detry slips from third to twelfth position, six shots behind the Swede Ludvig Aberg, sole leader following having returned a card of 66 (an eagle, five birdies and a bogey). The Swede is two strokes ahead of the Englishman Tommy Fleetwood and the Scotsman Connor Syme. Swede Sebastian Söderberg, who shared the lead with Aberg, tumbled to 53rd following a round of 7 over par.
Nicolas Colsaerts lost 21 places and occupies 60th position following a round of 73 strokes, one over par. He conceded four bogeys, for three birdies.
