Top Goalkeeper Hakon Valdimarsson Attracts Attention of Anderlecht and Champions League Clubs

Named the best goalkeeper in the Swedish Allsvenskan, Hakon Valdimarsson (IF Elfsborg) has attracted the attention of not only Anderlecht, but also other big clubs, including some in the Champions League.

His excellent performances even led FotbollDirekt to predict that Valdimarsson might dominate the Swedish winter transfer window as a true “blockbuster transfer”. With a market value of 1.2 million euros, he is currently the most expensive goalkeeper in Sweden.

Anderlecht want one of Sweden’s best goalkeepers

Jesper Fredberg is on the lookout for any opportunity in the transfer market, and Hakon Valdimarsson (IF Elfsborg) falls into this category. The 22-year-old goalkeeper is one of the best in Allsvenskan and was recently named the best goalkeeper in the Swedish league.

Blockbuster transfer to Sweden

FotbollDirekt confidently predicts that Hakon Valdimarsson might well become one of the most notable transfers in Swedish football in the upcoming winter transfer window, a true “blockbuster transfer”.

With a current market value of 1.2 million euros, the Icelander is currently the most expensive goalkeeper in the Swedish league. Valdimarsson can undoubtedly be considered one of the best goalkeepers in the Allsvenskan, if not THE best.

Valdimarsson admitted he constantly had to make a difficult choice between rushing and staying in his penalty area. He is not only the goalkeeper with the highest number of clean sheets in the championship but also has the third best save percentage.

Anderlecht goalkeepers: only Schmeichel satisfied

At the start of last summer, Anderlecht welcomed Maxime Dupé as their new first goalkeeper, which had the effect of moving Colin Coosemans to second goalkeeper.

Coosemans agreed with this choice and happily accepted this role as Dupé’s understudy. He even signed a new four-year contract with Anderlecht in July and Het Laatste Nieuws reported at the time that he had no desire to become a third goalkeeper once more.
