Alpine A524 : 3/10
Quentin Guichard’s opinion:
We would like to see life in pink with Alpine. Unfortunately, we continue to be in the dark. This is good, these are once once more the colors proposed by the French team. And to understand that it is a French team, you have to pay attention to the slight tricolor border under the Alpine logo. It’s visually sad, a bit like the results on the track. Ultimately, the whole thing complements each other well…
Red Bull RB20 : 4/10
Our graphic designer’s opinion:
Last year, I talked regarding monotony for Red Bull. We’re still in the thick of it this year. It’s pretty, it’s sober, it’s everything you want… But aren’t we on the verge of getting visually tired of this car? As far as I’m concerned: yes.
McLaren MLC38 : 5/10
Our graphic designer’s opinion:
Let’s talk regarding this legendary orange. The first shots of the McLaren presentation video showed an all-orange livery. Every year I hope to see her like this. Every year I get frustrated. But, following having digested the disappointment, I must recognize that the livery of this season is more successful than the previous one. Aesthetically, the big negative point of the McLaren remains the somewhat crude presence of the sponsors. We no longer know where to turn.
Aston Martin AMR24 : 6/10
Our graphic designer’s opinion:
Still as classy as this Aston. This green is more sober than last year, which gives even more character to this livery. She fulfills her contract and unlike Alpine, she does not deny her identity.
Haas VF-24: 6/10
Our graphic designer’s opinion:
A design following on from last year’s, which I really liked. Be careful not to rest on what you have learned. But even if the surprise effect has passed, it remains a design which gives character to the car.
FERRARI SF-24: 7/10
Our graphic designer’s opinion:
It’s not easy to renew your career at Ferrari. However, every year, the Scuderia manages to find the graphics game that will make the livery unique. This time, it is the yellow and white color accents which underline the elegant silhouette of the car. I think it’s a success, without being a revolution. We appreciate the presence of the historic logo on the rear wing for the second year in a row.
Williams FW46 : 7/10
Our graphic designer’s opinion:
The real nice surprise of these 2024 liveries. Last year, I was not at all a customer of the proposed design. This time, it’s validated. The color palette is better utilized and gives an aggressive look to the car. The only downside: even if from a marketing point of view the idea of this giant pile is good, it is still visually awful.
Stake F1 C44 : 8/10
Our graphic designer’s opinion:
It was a leap into the unknown following the change in the name of the team. But we have a worthy heir to last year’s Alfa Romeo. The neon green and black combination works wonderfully. Accompanied, as a bonus, by bold graphics. A real success.
Mercedes W15 : 8/10
Our graphic designer’s opinion:
Mercedes designers were probably unaware, when designing this car, that the 2024 season would be Lewis Hamilton’s last with the team. So, seeing this meeting between the silver arrows and the black design offered since 2020 is a nice summary of the entire Mercedes adventure of the seven-time world champion with this car. A true symbol. A great success.
Racing Bulls VCARB01 : 9/10
Our graphic designer’s opinion
Those nostalgic for the Toro Rosso team, of which I am a member, are delighted. We find colors and textures that we lost with AlphaTauri. The latter were not visually ugly, but they are no match for this superb 2024 livery. Special mention to this aluminum side in this paint which necessarily takes us back a few years. The color is assumed from the rear wing to the tip of its snout. Finally !
