A priori, the summer period was rather good for a certain number of festivals in Indre. Some even broke attendance records during this summer of 2023. Overview, and summary of the main events.
The Nohant Chopin Festival
The Nohant Chopin Festival has regained some color this year, for its 57th edition. “It’s a very good record, which makes us completely forget the period we went through with the covid. It may seem far away, but not that much, because people’s habits had changed, and so we were always a little worried, even if last year it had already gone well“explains the president of this classical music festival, Yves Henry. The Nohant Chopin festival has regained its record level of attendance before covid, in 2019, with nearly 10,000 spectators with the concerts Outside the Walls.
Record also broken for the Continuous Sound of the Château d’Ars
The popular music and dance festival, Le Son continu, at the Château d’Ars, welcomed for a total of four days more than 20,000 visitors; 2,000 more than the previous year. “It is especially on the park entries, the daily entries, where there this year we really see the return of the locals.x” explains Léo Pétoin, production manager.

Attendance jumps 30% at the Franco-Scottish festivals in Aubigny-sur-Nère
The summer was also particularly good for the Franco-Scottish festivals in Aubigny-sur-Nère, in Cher. The event attracted approx. 40,000 visitors in three and a half days, an attendance up 30%, according to the organizers. In total, 15,000 meals were served, and there were around 1,500 people for the French pipe band championship.

A very good second edition for the Timeless Argenton
For its second edition, the Intemporal festival (ex Debussy festival) of Argenton-sur-Creuse has almost doubled its number of entrieswith 4,000 spectators between July 24 and 30. Five concerts sold out. The Friday evening concerts, notably with Alela Diane (folk), and Saturday evening, with Zao de Sagazan (French song, electronic music), were particularly attractive.

Darc interns have never been so numerous
As for the Darc de Châteauroux festival, which took place during the first half of August, the results are also rather satisfactory. Its director Éric Bellet has already announced an attendance record for the dance workshop , with 652 attendees. As for the concerts part, we do not yet know the results, but it was Kendji Girac who attracted the most people, according to Éric Bellet.
