Bouillon

We no longer present this Parisian institution which has now also established itself in Brussels. Located in the city center, it offers traditional Belgian dishes for a crust of bread, in a cheerfully casual Art Deco atmosphere. Given the number of tables and the rotating service, it’s a safe bet that you’ll find a small place even though they accept reservations.

Or ? Rue des Dominicains 7, 1000 Brussels

When ? Open Wednesday to Saturday from noon to 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday only from noon to 2:30 p.m. Closed Sunday evening, Monday and Tuesday.

Roru: a new chic fast-food restaurant is arriving in the capital

At the Little World

Hidden in a pedestrian street on Avenue Louise, this family restaurant founded in 1979 has established itself over time as a must-see. The recipe for its success? The cozy atmosphere, the retro setting, the transmission from father to son and the fact that we can potentially meet the jet set passing through Brussels. The good news is that, no matter what time you arrive, it is almost impossible that someone will not find you a small place.

Or ? Rue Jourdan 19, 1060 Saint-Gilles

When ? Open 7 days a week from noon to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to midnight

Georges Breweries

Another big Brussels institution, located in Uccle this time. There you would find one of the best shrimp croquettes and the best flakes in the country, but not only that. The address, open non-stop from midday until evening, is the guarantee of enjoying a good meal in a Parisian brasserie setting. We recommend their oysters (obviously) followed by a good American fries. Simple, effective, everything we like.

Or ? Av. Winston Churchill 259, 1180 Uccle

When ? Open 7 days a week from noon to 10:30 p.m.

Gusto Trattoria

Go to the Châtelain side this time. At Gusto Trattoria, you can taste La Botte products in a zero-fuss atmosphere (to say the least). Again, if the address accepts reservations, there is always a chance that the boss will find you a last minute table. On weekends, in the evening, the atmosphere and the decibels rise. Ideal for throwing a little party.

Or ? Rue Fourmois 32, 1050 Ixelles

When ? Monday to Saturday from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Batch

“From Matinée to Soirée” is the credo of this new address who landed a short time ago right in front of my house YOU. In the morning, we enjoy a specialty coffee with a pastry, at lunchtime a salad or a focaccia-based sandwich. And in the early evening, the space “transforms” and offers low-intervention wines, craft cocktails, beers and dishes to share based on local and seasonal products. As you cannot reserve, you have to arrive first. Perfect if all the cool restaurants we had thought of are already booked.

Nona Flagey

One of our favorite places when you want to eat away from home without breaking the bank. At the house of Nona Flagey, we enjoy ultra-fresh pizzas made from carefully selected and locally produced products. Like Neapolitan pizzerias, the services rotate and follow one another. We can obviously hang around a bit if we want a dessert or a last Spritz. But it’s guaranteed to see a table free up quickly, even when the place is crowded (i.e. all the time).

Or ? Avenue Général de Gaulle 3, 1050 Ixelles

When ? Open 7 days a week from noon to 10 p.m. From 6 p.m. on Tuesday, and until 10:30 p.m. on Thursday and 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evening.

Fox

What’s better than a food market when you don’t know where you want to go, or what you want to eat, and you can’t decide. At Foxwe don’t hesitate to show up at the last minute and squeeze between the tables to find a nice place for two, with friends or even in a group.

Or ? Boulevard du Souverain 25, 1170 Watermael-Boitsfort

When ? Opening this Thursday, June 1, 2023, every day of the week from noon to noon.
