We have all received a questionable, even insulting, gift. From diet plans to cleansing products to anti-aging products, a new survey has managed to come up with a list of the worst gifts ever given.
According to a recent survey commissioned by personalized book publisher Wonderbly, 75% of people receive up to seven gifts that will never be useful to them. Friends, children and colleagues are those who give the worst gifts, reported the New York Post.
But, it can be difficult not to show disappointment. Thus, only 17% of those surveyed said they pretended to be delighted and 27% said they graciously accepted the gift.
Although some people prefer to donate the unwanted present to charity (26%), others will simply try to hide it (14%) or even give it to someone else (18%). .
However, you should be careful not to give the gift to the person who first gave it, as this might cause discomfort. In fact, 32% of people who found themselves in this situation said they had already offered it, while 31% of them decided to keep silent in the face of discomfort.
“Giving and receiving gifts is one of life’s little pleasures,” said a Wonderbly spokesperson.
The survey was conducted among 2,000 adults by OnePoll.
