Four Thai hotels have been ranked among the top 10 by La Liste, an authoritative French guide to the hotel and restaurant industry.
The website The list compiles thousands of press publications, hundreds of guides and millions of online reviews, to provide a digital guide to both food and travel, a practical reference to consult anywhere in the world.
The four Thai hotels ranked among the ten best in the world are: cappella bangkok, Mandarin Oriental BangkokAmanpuri in Phuket and Six Senses Yao Noi in Phangnga.
The List uses a proprietary algorithm to assign ratings out of 100 to hotels around the world.
This year, the Hotel Cipriani in Venice topped the rankings with a score of 99.75.
The scores are then ranked in descending order: 99.5, 99, 98.5, etc.
A total of 200 hotels scored 95.5 or more in the “top 10”, with several tied.
Capella Bangkok came in fifth (98), Mandarin Oriental Bangkok sixth (97.5), Amanpuri in Phuket ninth (96) and Six Senses Yao Noi in Phangnga tenth (95.5).
A total of 1,000 hotels worldwide were included in the ranking, including 20 in Thailand, all of which received a rating of 90 or more, government spokesman Anucha Burapachaisri said on Wednesday July 5.
Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha praised the 24 hotels for their good work and pledged the government’s full support in terms of promoting tourism, Anucha said.
