We know that the general manager of the Canadiens, Kent Hughes, would like to speak twice among the first 10 selections of the draft which will take place Thursday in Montreal.
The most persistent rumors speak of the picks of the New Jersey Devils (2nd overall) and the Ottawa Senators (7th overall).
And either way, general managers Tom Fitzgerald and Pierre Dorion would like to get their hands on forward Josh Anderson, said reported Bruce Garrioch Daily Ottawa Sun Wednesday.
And still according to Garrioch, Hughes did not close the door on the big winger, both for the choice of the Devils and that of the Senators.
Last season, Anderson had 32 points, including 19 goals, in 62 games. He got the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2020 for forward Max Domi and a third-round pick.
The 28-year-old athlete will receive $5.5 million for the next five campaigns.
