Top 10 Hospitals in Colombia: Ranking and Scores Revealed in 2023 Newsweek Magazine Report

After facing the covid 19 pandemic, hospitals had to face great challenges and adversities with health systems. Newsweek magazine, together with Statista, published the ranking of the 250 best hospitals in the world in 2023.

Within the results, different institutions stood out globally, however, at the local level in position number 162, the Fundación Valle de Lili de Cali was positioned, with a score of 96.10% overall, being the only Colombian hospital to classify within the top 250.

However, according to the firms, despite not having entered the ranking of the 250, the best hospitals in Colombia are divided as follows according to their score:

1. Valle de Lili Foundation (Cali): 96.10%.

2. Santa Fe Foundation (Bogotá): 92.42%.

3. Pablo Tobón Uribe Hospital (Medellín): 92.35%.

4. San Vicente Foundation University Hospital (Medellín): 85.94%.

5. San Ignacio University Hospital (Bogotá): 85.57%.

6. Del Country Clinic (Bogotá): 82.44%.

7. Imbanaco Medical Center (Cali): 81.02%.

8. Marly Clinic (Bogotá): 77.91%.

9. La Colina Clinic Administrator (Bogotá): 77.38%.

10. Clinica de Occidente (Cali): 71.76%.

“This year, we have ranked more than 2,300 hospitals in 28 countries, including one that is new to our list, Taiwan. For the first time, we rank the top 250 hospitals in the world. We have also listed the best hospitals by country; each country list also includes a list of the best specialized hospitals.

Notably, 2,300 hospitals from 28 countries around the world were evaluated not only on world-class care, world-class research, and world-class innovation, but also their consistency in delivering better patient outcomes, new therapies, and most important investigations.

And the ‘top’ 10 worldwide was:

1. Mayo Clinic (Rochester – United States).

2. Cleveland Clinic (Cleveland – United States).

3. Massachusetts General Hospital (Boston – United States).

4. The Johns Hopkins Hospital (Baltimore – United States).

5. Toronto General – University Health Network (Toronto – Canadá).

6. Karolinska University Hospital (Solna – Suecia).

7. Charité – University Medicine Berlin (Berlin – Germany).

8. AP-HP – Pitié Salpêtrière University Hospital (Paris – France).

9. Singapore General Hospital (Singapore – Singapur).

10. UCLA Health – Ronald Reagan Medical Center (Los Angeles – United States).
