Talking about strengthening the role of local groups at the present time seems like trying to build a house on land full of mud.
The bitter reality that many groups are experiencing today reveals the presence of intruders on the internal affairs of these groups, intruders who combine money and prestige, hiding under the guise of “notables,” to contribute to destabilizing the political process within these councils.

Yes, no one denies that notables play an important role in societies, and that there is a dialectical relationship that regulates their interaction with elected bodies. However, when these notables become the actual heads of councils, and when the role of elected officials turns into mere decoration in front of these tyrants, we have the right to ask: Where are we going?

Why do notables in certain cities and villages rush to control communal councils? Has the goal of participating in elections become to protect personal interests only? Or are there greater interests that go beyond the boundaries of notables and elected officials? Can the media dare to shed light on these violations?

It is like a farce, where the notables stand in the background as the real managers, while the elected appear on the stage as actors playing roles that do not express their true nature. Here the problem of the weak and opportunistic elites emerges, who have become tools to serve the interests of the notables, forgetting their real role in serving the citizens and developing the groups.

It is time to say enough to this chaos. Enough to wasting development time due to these violations. Enough to the continuation of this absurd scenario that makes territorial groups tools in the hands of a few tyrants. The time now requires courage and boldness to put the house in order and to distance ourselves from anyone who seeks to exploit influence to serve his personal interests at the expense of the public good.

Yes, the role of local communities must be strengthened, but this strength will only be achieved by removing intruders and cleaning the scene of these notables who are spreading corruption on earth. Now, before we wake up to a worse reality, we must start taking action, not just with words, but with actions.
