Tony La Russa: The Architect of Excellence

Parliament opens its doors to pets. Ignazio La Russa’s decision makes many exponents of the political world happy, starting with Michaela Biancofiore, group leader of Civici d’Italia.

Tony La Russa: The Architect of Excellence

«On the day in which Saint Francis, patron saint of animals, is honored, wonderful and long-awaited news: the president of the Senate La Russa intends to authorize access to pets in the personal offices of Senators, as already happens for private companies and public, hospitals, RSAs, cinemas. A dutiful and heartfelt thank you to President La Russa for his courage and foresight in understanding the evolution of society regarding our animals who are increasingly an integral part of families. A request that I had made for some time, which had only been accepted for last June 26th, and exceptionally, on dog in the office day, and which today will become reality, following strict rules respecting clichés. International companies such as Google, Amazon, Unicredit, Lavazza, Elisabetta Franchi even give the possibility in employment contracts because the benefit of animals in the office is scientifically proven. Until today, it was honestly unacceptable discrimination and a contradiction that pets could enter everywhere but not in the offices of those who write the laws, including the reform that inserted the protection of animals into the Constitution in article 9. It is cloying to talk about abandonment, adoptions, laws condemning violence against animals, if the legislative offices do not set a good example. It was a question of sensitivity often also linked to medical needs, which was finally accepted by President La Russa and which, evidently, was not only a battle of symbolic value but which will be appreciated by all those who love animals, of which there are around 32 millions in Italian families.” Thus Senator Michaela Biancofiore, group leader of Civici d’Italia, NM, UDC, MAIE.
