Tomorrow Belongs to Us: Summary of the episode of Tuesday October 17, 2023
Noor pushes Victoire to her limits
At the hospital, Victoire tells Soizic that she watched the latest season of Grey’s Anatomy over the weekend. But Noor overhears the end of their discussion. She questions Victoire regarding her so-called weekend in Ardèche with Soraya. Victoire is uncomfortable. She tells Noor that she actually went for a bike ride with Soraya, that she came back Sunday followingnoon and then watched her series. Victoire quickly understands that Noor doubts the fact that she left with Soraya and she calls her friend to let her in on the secret. Soraya tries to make up for it. To strengthen her alibi, she studies the maps of Ardèche. She even bought chestnut jam, a specialty of the region. Gabriel thinks it would be easier to tell Noor the truth but the young woman once once more dismisses this idea out of hand. She believes it is still too early. Soraya can’t bring herself to hurt her sister.
Soraya and Noor meet on the beach. Noor makes her sister believe that she has been thinking regarding Gabriel all weekend. She thinks he must have had fun with his new girlfriend. Soraya is not leading the way. Noor then asks her sister to show her photos of her stay in Ardèche. But Soraya left her phone at the office. Noor takes it upon herself not to let anything show. In the evening, Noor drinks a drink at Spoon and writes a letter to Soraya in which she vents her anger. But then she crumples the paper.
Bruno receives a visit from Julie
Julie gets a meeting with Bruno and quickly notices his little face. The young woman offers to bring him something to improve his comfort in prison, but Bruno declines. He doesn’t need anything and above all, he doesn’t want Julie to worry regarding him. Bruno believes that Julie forgave him much too quickly for what he suffered and promises to make it up to him when he gets out of prison. He then explains to his daughter that confinement allowed him to put his mind together. He no longer drinks, he plays sports and he even reads a lot.
Accompanied by Nathan, Julie meets Raphaëlle. They are worried. Even if Bruno gives the lie, they know that he will not last long in prison. Raphaëlle tries to reassure them. She has requested release under judicial supervision and should have the judge’s response within a few days. Raphaëlle thinks Bruno has a chance of getting it. Julie explains to him that they are ready to pay whatever price it takes to get Bruno out of prison. Nathan chimes in and points out that they don’t have an unlimited budget either. Raphaëlle knows their situation and had the idea of giving them a package deal. In the meantime, let the procedure take place. Raphaëlle also plans to apply for legal aid. If they get it, then they won’t have to pay anything.
Back at the Spoon, Nathan inquires regarding lawyers’ fees. Raphaëlle’s package might amount to a four-figure amount. Julie thinks she can pay part of it with the money she has saved and plans to ask her parents to advance her the rest of the amount. Nathan refuses to allow Julie to involve his family in their stories. Sitting at the counter, Alex hasn’t lost a beat of their conversation.
Bart was drugged without his knowledge
Last night, Adèle caught Bart in bed with another woman. The problem is he doesn’t remember anything. Bart is in the hospital waiting for test results. Sara is by his side. Bart swears to the young woman that he doesn’t know what Cléa was doing in his room, especially since he is madly in love with Adèle, and they have just taken an apartment together. In his eyes, this story makes no sense. Victoire comes to meet them and informs Bart that significant traces of GHB (better known as the rapist drug) were found in his blood. But unless Bart remembers it, it will be difficult to prove that he had an intimate relationship with the Spoon’s customer. Bart emphasizes that these results prove above all that he did not want to deceive Adèle and that is what matters to him.
Not far from there, Adèle is in the company of Fabio and the young woman shares his incomprehension. She and Bart looked so good together. Fabio implies that jealousy pushed Bart into the arms of the Spoon’s client to take revenge or prove something to himself. Adèle doesn’t think Bart can be so childish. She then blames herself for settling down so quickly with Bart. Fabio points out that he always told her that she mightn’t settle for anyone. Adèle retorts that Bart was the one. She hadn’t felt such feelings since Teddy. Fabio’s face tenses. Fabio asks the young woman what she plans to do. Adèle doesn’t know it, but she can’t talk to Bart at the moment. It’s beyond his strength.
At the police station, Nordine takes Bart’s complaint and questions him to help him reconstruct the facts. Bart admits that Clea was pretty, but she wasn’t his type. She flirted with him, but he immediately told her that he was in a relationship and in love. Bart doesn’t have many memories of that evening, but it’s certain that he had no intention of spending the night with her. Bart then makes a sketch of Cléa and leaves his phone for inspection. Roxane scanned her cell phone, but found no trace of this Cléa, even when deleted.
Sara told Adèle that Bart had been drugged so the young woman agreed to meet him. But Adèle can’t stop thinking regarding this story. If Bart hadn’t left the door open, this woman would never have been able to approach him. Adèle points out that nothing tells her that he didn’t want to spend the night with her. Bart swears that wasn’t the case. But without success. Bart explains to Adèle that he was very angry. They had just argued and Fabio had added another layer. Bart supposes that Cléa must have seen that he was bad and that she took advantage of it. Adèle asks Bart to leave Fabio out of this story and to come and collect some things from the apartment.
Not far from there, Sara and Nordine question Audrey at the Spoon. She explains to the two police officers that she left the day before around 10:30 p.m. Bart then stayed with Cléa. But Audrey found no collection following her departure. Cléa’s order wasn’t even recorded in the cash register. Nordine deduces that Bart offered him his drinks. Audrey points out that she heard Bart talking to the client regarding Adèle.
The investigation quickly stalled. The telephone demarcation yielded nothing, as did the neighborhood survey. No one saw Cléa leave Bart’s apartment. As for the DNA samples, the scientific police collected a sample at the apartment which corresponded neither to Bart nor to Adèle. However, this DNA is not recorded. Sara feels like she’s running following a ghost.
Bart finds refuge with Roxane and Sara. He can’t believe Adèle kicked him out. Bart fears that Fabio will try to take advantage of this to get a little closer to Adèle. In the evening, Adèle receives a visit from her friend. She confides to Fabio that Bart came to collect her things. The young woman thinks that staying a little alone will do her good. But Fabio thinks on the contrary that it is not good for her to be left alone to ruminate and be depressed. So he decides to stay this evening to cheer her up. Fabio spends the night on the sofa, but he can’t sleep. Around two in the morning, he slips into Adèle’s room and watches her sleep.
