Keukenhof will reopen its doors on Thursday and the ticket booking system remains: the park can only be accessed with tickets purchased in advance, for a specific day and time. According to director Jeroen Duyster, this is increasingly happening in amusement parks, zoos and museums, says NU. A legacy of the corona era, as well as the number of visitors will still not be at pre-pandemic numbers.

Until last year, a ticket was purchased for a visit to the Keukenhof at a certain time of the season. “And then everyone was at the gate at 11:00 on nice days,” Duyster says. “Now you buy a ticket for a specific day and time.” Visitors are delighted with the novelty: no crowds and time to see the splendid garden.
Keukenhof also expanded the floral displays in the park this year, trying to make up for what it lost in the two-year closure due to the pandemic, NU says.
The gates are open until May 14 and the park hopes to repeat last year’s success, the exhibit attracted 1.1 million people, the director says he expects fewer visits this year.
