Last summer, Tommy Körberg suffered from streptococcal bacteria that attacked his back, which News55 reported on earlier. He spent two weeks in hospital and had to cancel his “Grand Finale” tour.
Just a few years earlier, in 2020, Körberg was affected by similar bacteria and then things were regarding to end really badly. The artist hovered between life and death.
– It was because the streptococci started eating away at my heart, he says TV4.
In “Malou meets”, Anne-Charlotte Körberg now talks regarding the difficult weeks before her husband ended up in intensive care.
– I was worried because he had a fever for almost two weeks and no other symptoms. It was the same symptom I had when I got sick, so then I started and was persuaded that we should go in and take samples on Friday. On Monday we went into town and then the doctor said: no, no no. You don’t even go home. You go straight to the emergency room.

Tommy Körberg pays tribute to his wife and great love following the tough period.
– My wife took care of me very well. It was nice to have a person who was in my social vicinity. But I was angry that I got sick too. An anger. But anger can be a good source of recovery, I think.
The music keeps Körberg alive
Körberg is now busy with the musical “Änglagård” where he plays the character Gottfrid. The musical is a success in Stockholm and has been extended for a third season in the fall.
