Tolls in CABA increase by 50%: how are the rates?

The tolls of the North and West Access to the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires will increase 50% starting this November 29, while The Government approved the new tariff schedules for these highways.

This is the third increase so far this year, while a 50% in May and another 40% in August.

The decision was formalized through Resolution 3049/2023 of the National Highway Directorate (DNV) published this Tuesday in the Official Gazette.

The DNV justified the increase for understanding that “having produced a significant variation in the prices of certain main components of the exploitation, conservation and maintenance and support services itemswhich affect the provision of services and the maintenance of concessions, if not balanced with rate adjustments, these could have an impact on the quality of the services provided by the concessionaire companies.

In the Resolution, the DNV explained that the increase percentages that arise from the new proposed tariff tables are “lower than the variations in the price index (CPI) accumulated until November 2023 (date of application of the update).

It also indicated that the adjustment is lower than the increase percentages in accordance with the terms provided for by the concession contracts for the North and West Accesses to the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.

After the increase, the new values ​​of the toll rates that will govern from the day after tomorrow in both Accesses are the following:

  • Motorcycles: $150.
  • Vehicles with up to 2 axles and up to 2.10 meters high: $250 ($300 during peak hours).
  • Vehicles with up to 2 axles and more than 2.10 meters high or double wheel: $500 ($600 during peak hours).
  • Vehicles with 3 or 4 axles and up to 2.10 meters high: $500 ($600 during peak hours).
  • Vehicles with 3 or 4 axles and more than 2.10 meters high or double wheel: $750 ($900 during peak hours).
  • Vehicles with 5 or 6 axles: $1000 ($1200 during peak hours).
  • Vehicles with more than 6 axles: $1,250 ($1,500 during peak hours).
