Tokyo: A tuna fish was sold for 6.5 crore rupees (114.2 million Japanese yen) in Tokyo, Japan. Weight is 238 kg. The incident took place at Tokyo’s largest fish market. This fish will be served at the Michelin Starred Restaurant in Onodera.

Bluefin tuna was sold for gold. The tuna was caught off the coast of Aomori Prefecture in northern Japan. Seafood wholesaler Yamayuki and sushi chain operator Onodera Group acquired this tuna at a cost of 6.5 crores. Yamayuki president Yukitaka Yamaguchi said that he participated in this auction to win.

Bluefin is the largest deep-sea tuna. They have a torpedo shape. Lives up to 40 years. They slip out of the fishermen’s nets and move fast. Sushi businessman Kiyoshi Kimura, known as the Tuna King, acquired Tuna in 2019 for Rs 27 crore. This is a record that has yet to be broken in Japan. Kimura’s response was that I bought a good tuna. Chef Derek Wilcox said bluefin tuna is in high demand.
