Tokyo Shinjuku Kabukicho “Golden Street” fire temporarily disturbed no injuries | NHK

Around 1:50 pm on the 17th, fire departments were notified that a two-story restaurant in “Golden Gai” in Kabukicho, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo was on fire.

According to the Tokyo Fire Department, 20 fire trucks rushed in to extinguish the fire, and the fire was almost extinguished following regarding an hour and a half, but regarding 10 square meters of the second floor of the building was burned.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, no one escaped or was injured in the fire.

“Golden Gai” is a densely packed area with old-fashioned bars and snack bars lined up in narrow alleys.

In the vicinity of the site, people involved in nearby stores and many people who passed by watched the fire extinguishing activities with concern.

A woman who runs a restaurant near the place where the fire started said, “When I was working during the day, I might hear the fire department’s radio and the sound of running around, and the smell of smoke entered the store, so this is dangerous. I ran away with the customer.It’s scary.”

Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
