Togo launches its facial recognition system for life control

The National Social Security Fund of Togo is launching Biosécu, an easy recognition system that allows Togolese to check their lives. According to the institution in charge of the program, this system aims to confirm that your face corresponds perfectly to the biometric information held by the CNSS Togo.

Biometrics, let us remember, is a technique for identifying an individual by means of their morphological characteristics: fingerprint, geometry of the hand, structure of the iris or retina, tone of voice, shape of the face. etc The characteristics are chosen to vary little during the life of the individual and to be different from one individual to another (even for twins).

With this digital platform, Togo is taking a new step in the digitization of procedures in order to allow Togolese to benefit from basic services without constraints or difficulty. It is possible to do the check with your computer equipped with a camera and your smartphone.

“The life control operation, previously suspended in the context of compliance with the barrier measures enacted by the government to combat the spread of Covid-19, resumes from August 16 to December 31, 2022 for the payment of pensions and annuities of the 1st semester 2023 »announced the Director General of the National Social Security Fund, Ingrid AWADE. “The payment of the rights of those of the beneficiaries who will not carry out the said operation will be suspended from January 1, 2023, in accordance with the regulatory provisions of the Social Security Code”, she pointed out.
