I founded the salon that I had been looking for in vain. A salon that brings extra weight, accessibility, diverse product selection, gender-independent pricing and a community feeling. A high quality safe space
Ina Holub, owner of Soft & Cut
Vienna/Graz (OTS) – The Austrian mail order company OTTO is once once more setting an example for more diversity in society and is supporting the Viennese entrepreneur Ina Holub’s hair salon Soft & Cut with (inclusive) equipment. On February 17th, the salon in Vienna opens its doors for the first time, where the OTTO range can be admired.
The special thing regarding it: Soft & Cut sees itself as a multi-barrier-free haircut salon, with a diverse range of products and treatments to suit the needs of a wide range of hair structures and skin types. The salon is aimed specifically at women and people from a wide range of marginalized social groups. “I founded the salon that I had been looking for in vain. A salon that brings extra weight, accessibility, diverse product selection, gender-independent pricing and a community feeling. A high-quality safe space,” says Ina Holub, owner of Soft & Cut.
Including furnishings from OTTO
OTTO Austria assisted with the furnishing of their salon with a diverse range of products to bring the multi-barrier-free hair salon to life. The owner selected her multi-inclusive salon equipment in an 80s look from the entire range, which includes around two million items from home, lifestyle, fashion and technology. Particular attention was paid to the top equipment of the haircut places, where customers should feel completely comfortable. The hairdressing chairs from ottoversand.at have no armrests, can carry extra weight and are extra deep and wide. They can also be easily moved around the room to give wheelchair users enough space. The large mirrors and the many haircut and make-up products enable each person to create their own individual, perfect look. Curling irons, hair clippers and hot air brushes as well as highlighter and contouring palettes, cosmetic brush sets and lipsticks in a wide variety of colors are also from the OTTO Austria range.
The furniture in the waiting area also conveys a special flair. The cozy, pastel blue ottomans, corduroy-look cushions, pink deep-pile carpet and retro magazine racks perfectly underline the 80s style. To round off the salon’s furnishings, the owner selected a kitchen and interior from the diverse range of technology.
OTTO Austria promotes diversity
This is not the first time that OTTO Austria is showing the diversity of society. The brand launched the 360° “Diversity for All” campaign as early as 2023. With this campaign, ottoversand.at positioned itself as an inspiring online retailer with a surprisingly diverse range. Numerous life situations of a wide variety of customers were shown and how they can find the right thing for every situation with the diverse range.
The cooperation with Soft & Cut is the next logical step for the online retailer to draw attention to more diversity in society. “We are pleased regarding the cooperation with the multi-inclusive hair salon. This allows us to promote accessibility, inclusion and diversity and at the same time draw attention to how diverse our range is. With this cooperation we want to underline that with OTTO Austria we stand for diversity for everyone,” summarizes Jennifer Bliem, Marketing Manager at OTTO Austria.
