Today is Wednesday December 28 and these are the main news of the day:
1.- There is new information in the case of the woman accused of stabbing her 3-year-old daughter to death in North Miami Beach. According to the report, the defendant had previously tried to strangle the little girl.. The mother was identified as 24-year-old Jellisa Amoya Baxter. It was her own mother who called the police.
2.- A three-year-old girl died in the hospital who fell into a swimming pool in southwest Miami-Dade last week. The minor was treated by the rescue teams and transported by air to an area hospital, but the authorities confirmed that the little girl did not manage to survive.
3.- One man died and another was injured in an intense shooting that occurred last night in Lauderhill. One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was transported in critical condition to Broward Health. So far, the identity of those responsible is unknown, as well as the motive for the crime.
4.- A man was accused in West Palm Beach of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl, the daughter of his girlfriend. The events occurred in September of this year. According to the arrest report, Wilson Joseph Chery, 37, entered the girl’s bedroom while she was sleeping, took her clothes and sexually assaulted her. The man is being held without bail.
5.- The Small Business Growth Fund will give $25,000 to small businesses that need capital to grow. The funds are provided by Master Card to accelerate its growth and achieve its goals in 2023. They must have had less than one million in annual gross income in 2021. Interested parties can apply on the website helloalice.com/funding/grants, until January 6 at 6 pm. Those selected will be announced in February.
