Today’s Pakistani dramas present only those issues, Sania Saeed

Famous drama artist Sania Saeed has criticized the current Pakistani dramas in a recent interview and said that the purpose of presenting social problems in today’s dramas is not to solve them but to take advantage of them. She was speaking on Ifat Umar’s YouTube program Say It All With Ifat Umar.

Since 1989, actress Sania Saeed, who has proven her brilliant and versatile acting in dozens of dramas on stage and TV, is completely absent from the small screen these days.

Sania Saeed talked regarding many shortcomings of current Pakistani dramas in the program of Ifta Umar. He said that earlier the purpose of the story of a play was to identify social problems, understand them and try to solve them. But now this thinking has changed.

According to Sania Saeed, today’s Pakistani dramas only present issues that we all are already familiar with and may have even faced. Presenting such issues in today’s dramas is only for profit. “This thinking is not correct,” he said.

Sania Saeed also said that even today’s actors do not interact much with the common people, so neither they have any special familiarity with the common people nor can they properly express human emotions in their work.

He stressed the need for studios, equipment and places where technical staff can be sent for training to improve Pakistani drama. “We also desperately need to invest in our people and infrastructure,” Sania said.

It should be noted that Sania Saeed has acted in dramas like Ahat, Satara and Mehrul-Nisaa, Promise, Silences, Kalmohi, Yellow Weather, Asirzaadi, How Many Knots Are Remaining, Search, Twenty Four Hours, Putli Nagar, Escape, Now You Can Go and Seventh Heaven and Apart from telefilms, Safia has appeared in the role of Manto in the movie “Minto”. Apart from the PTV Award in 1991 for her best acting, she has also won the Lux Style Award four times.
