Just three days before the PASO on August 13, there is another election that mobilizes a significant number of voters. Affiliates to the Association of State Workers (ATE) vote for their next authorities. In Neuquén, there are three lists who aspire to the provincial leadership: Carlos Quintriqueo for continuity (he is also running for national office), Jonatan Valenzuela for the line similar to the current central leadership and Yanina Saldía representing the left.

The elections are this Wednesday August 9. The state workers work regularly, except for those who are affected by the process, so there are classes and attention in the agencies.

In Neuquén, the path to that date was marked by the surprise death of Pilar Sagredo, May 31. The leader was the Quintriqueo’s running matethe place of the distant Jorge Marillán.

After the tragic event, the secretary of minutes, María José García Crespo, went on to apply to assistant secretary, next to Maximiliano Ramírez Torres for union secretary down the list Green and White.

Quintriqueo also aspires to the national secretariat, with Agustina Panissa as deputy. They assure that they are the “only true alternative” and question, among numerous aspects, the “financial drowning” as a “disciplinary tool”, something that ATE Neuquén permanently denounces in its capacity as an opponent.

That national line of the Green Anusatewho leads Rodolfo Aguiar from Río Negro, in Neuquén, for the general secretariat formed a united front: the Green list.

In addition to Valenzuela, EPEN worker, the formula is made up of Amaranta Flores, from EPAS, for deputy secretary, and Vanina Castillo, self-convened from the Centenario hospital, for union secretary. They affirm that they are the “alternative once morest violence and precariousness.”

Between the Green and White and the Green Anusate there were clashes, but the one that gained the greatest visibility was that of San Martín de los Andes last year, in the center and during the winter season. Recently, Pedro Jofré, a member of the provincial government, was convicted of the shooting and, together with the leaders Arnaldo Gallardo and Rodrigo Contreras, must pay for the damages.

The third list is Multicolored Front, which takes Alejandro Lipcovich, leader of the Garrahan hospital, to the national level. In Neuquén, the formula also came from the Health sector. It is formed by the Castro Rendón hospital nurse, Yanina Saldíathe social worker of the Heller hospital, Javier Lombardo, for assistant secretary, and the nurse Roger Obelar, self-summoned from the Centenario hospital, for the union.

They ensure that They are the “only opposition list” and they are referenced in the fight of the “elephants”, the self-summoned health workers who, in 2021, carried out blockades for weeks in rejection of the salary proposal that ATE and UPCN had already signed. Currently, the leaders and spokespersons of these protests are part of different political spaces.
