Today, the judiciary decides on Amri Farouk’s appeal against his exclusion from the position of Vice President of Al-Ahly

This Sunday, the State Council’s Administrative Court delivered its verdict on Al-Amri Farouk‘s case, mandating an immediate halt to the actions taken against him. This includes preventing the proclamation of another candidate’s victory as Vice-Chairman of Al-Ahly Club‘s Board of Directors and nullifying any related consequences.

The court’s judgment annuls the actions taken against Mr. Farouk, effectively preventing the announcement of a rival’s win for the Vice-Chairman position. All subsequent actions stemming from this are also voided.

Al-Amri stated that on October 4, 2021, Al-Ahly Sports Club held its twelfth consecutive board meeting (the second of the series). Key decisions included scheduling the club’s general assembly for November 25th, 2021 (first meeting), and November 26th, 2021 (second meeting, if a quorum wasn’t reached for the initial gathering).

The board also mandated the publication of the meeting invitation on October 15th, 2021, with nominations open from October 16th to 22nd, 2021. The submission window was from 9 am to 5 pm daily, extending to 7 pm on the final day. The invitation appeared in Al-Ahram and Al-Akhbar newspapers on October 15th, 2021.

On November 3, 2021, the attendance records for Al-Ahly Club’s general assembly were released. This was for the election of a new board for the 2025-2031 term. The Cairo Youth and Sports Directorate’s overseeing committee was informed of both scheduled meetings (November 25th and 26th, 2021).

Mr. Farouk was surprised to find his name absent from the list of elected vice-presidents, prompting this legal challenge.
