Victoria City, Tamaulipas. -After the 37th World Congress of Sports Medicine in Guadalajara, Jaliscothe president of the Mexican Federation of Sports Medicine (WOMAN OF), Felipe Homero Gomez Ballesteroshighlighted the success of the event and the work of the National Commission of Physical Culture and Sports (CONADE), as a pillar for the development of this matter in our country.

In his third year at the helm of the institution, Felipe Gómez detailed the arduous task he carried out, six months following taking office, to obtain the venue for the biennial event, following having competed for it once morest countries such as China and Qatar.

“Once elected as president, I participated so that Mexico would host the World Congress; my effort did not falter and I sought support to meet the requirements requested by the FIMS (International Federation of Sports Medicine) and it was achieved, it is a Congress of Mexico “shared.

The World Congress of Sports Medicine, which was held for the first time in Mexico, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, brought together 127 speakers from 47 countries on five continents, a fact that the head of the Mexican Federation highlighted as key to updating and applying of knowledge, even with the complications derived from the covid-19 pandemic.

“Despite the difficult years, the work did not stop and the result was reflected, the development of this project continued. I must emphasize that I received congratulations from FIMS for the quality of the academic program, which is in the international standards that they endorse, they are happy with everything achieved in these days of activities, they had a great influx of national and international speakers”, he shared.

The event is held every two years; however, due to the health emergency, the 2020 edition was postponed to 2021 in Greece, this year it was received by Mexico and, at the closing ceremony in Guadalajara, Dubai received the post office to host it in 2024.
