Good word day has been launched by Peaasi.ee to draw attention to how important it is not only to notice but also to recognize and thank other people with kind words.
On the Peasai.ee website, people might write down their favorite words to thank and acknowledge friends, family members, and coworkers.
The most popular word to express gratitude was “thank you”. Expressions like “you’re wonderful”, “you did well”, “great job”, “I’m proud of you” are the most used expressions for recognition. The most common way to acknowledge and say thank you is “thank you for being there”. Less common beautiful sayings were: you are enough, there might be more people like you, you can feel that you contribute with all your heart!
According to the CEO of Peaasi.ee, clinical psychologist Anna-Kaisa Oidermaa, recognition and thanks might be an important part of our everyday life. “Saying good things to others and acknowledging them brings positive emotions to both the person being told and the person saying it. It has been found that people who regularly express gratitude and acknowledge others experience greater satisfaction and joy in life,” Oidermaa explained.
The celebration of the Good Word Day will be held for the third time as part of the week of positive emotions of the mental health vitamin course. This year, the focus of the vitamin course is to bring out the joy of work, the joy of school and the joy of life from the hustle and bustle of everyday tasks.
The five vitamins for mental health are sleep and rest, a balanced diet, experiencing pleasant emotions, exercise and good relationships. Each week focuses on one mental health vitamin and shares recommendations on how to use them to strengthen mental health and improve mental health balance. You can participate in the vitamin course alone, with family, friends, a team, as well as with a class or school.
During the vitamin course, you can complete a test to find out what kind of mental health vitamin is most needed. The mental health vitamins test can be done here: peaasi.ee/vaimse-tervise-vitaminid/
