The photo is not new but we can see it in the sweetness of an evening (a festival or a “garden party” following Antwerp’s Cup-championship double last season, the context is not specified ) two Antwerp personalities sharing a moment of conviviality: Toby Alderweireld and Tom Van Grieken. The problem for the captain of Matricule 1, ex-Red Devil (who could be recalled by national coach Domenico with a view to Euro 2024) and one of the leading figures of the new Belgian Union “Come Together” campaign against hatred and discrimination on social networks, is the personality of the second character in the photo: the president of Vlaams Belang is not really the standard bearer of the values with which Toby’s image is associated.
