Tobogganing: Madeleine Egle was crowned European champion on her home track

The Tyrolean successfully defended her half-time lead on her home track; she prevailed in the race, which is also part of the World Cup, ahead of the Germans Julia Taubitz (+0.024 seconds) and Anna Berreiter (+0.239). Lisa Schulte finished fifth on the day and fourth at the European Championships. The medal decisions for the men’s and women’s doubles still await on Saturday. In this way, the ÖRV averted a medalless European Championship like the one in Sigulda in 2023 in the first race.
