Patients with overactive bladder have some or all of the following symptoms, such as urinating more frequently than usual, feeling a strong urge to urinate that cannot be delayed, urinary leakage when one cannot get to the toilet quickly enough, and waking up to urinate more than once during the night .
Some healthy habits help treat an overactive bladder, including:
Exercising regularly every day:
Pelvic muscle exercises are recommended to help strengthen the bladder muscles.
Avoid smoking:
Smoking irritates the bladder and increases the chances of developing urinary incontinence.
Not drinking fluids 2 to 3 hours before bedtime:
So that the need to urinate during the night does not increase.
Maintaining blood sugar levels:
Which can contribute to worsening symptoms of overactive bladder.
