To test the emergency call of an iPhone 14, they cause a car accident!

Unveiled on September 7, the iPhone 14 has an accelerometer which, in theory, detects any accident and automatically calls for help. Youtubers decided to check this new feature, and they performed an authentic crash test.

15 days ago, the public discovered the new iPhoneand among the novelties of theiPhone 14, a new safety-related feature had been highlighted. Thus, the smartphone can make emergency calls via satellite in white areas and its accelerometer is able to precisely identify an accident to call for help more quickly.

The Youtubers of TechRax wanted to test this emergency call function, and they found nothing better than to create a real accident. Don’t worry, nobody got behind the wheel, they went to a field for their test. In fact, they used a remote control to drive this automobile. In this video, we see all the preparation of this ” crash test and it takes a bit of time to reproduce the conditions of an accident.

A message, an alarm then the call

Even if the first shock is not violent, we see that the iPhone, following a few seconds, calls for help. Initially, the message ” It looks like you had an accident appears, an alarm sounds. A countdown starts in case it is a false alarm, and if the user does not stop it, the call is made.

The second accident is more violent, and the detection of the impact is identical. Test therefore successful for this new function and it should be remembered that it is also on the new Apple Watch. Indeed, a new, more precise accelerometer makes it possible to detect a possible fall, in the street or on a bicycle. Maybe the TechRax team will test it soon…
