The group of regarding twenty people, all Italians, wanted to eat typical Quebec food.

Pierre Morrissette from Avjet, who accompanied them, introduced them to the Chic Shack restaurant, located at Place d’Armes in Old Quebec.

“The crew asked ‘We want to eat something local’. So we took them to the Chic Shack. They ordered everything on the menu: poutine en masse, homemade chips,” explains Mr. Morrissette.

The place offers burgers, salads, milkshakes, homemade sodas and poutines made with ingredients from local suppliers.

Several photos show the crew sharing good times around the table, eating poutine.

“After dinner, the crew wanted to continue the purely Quebec experience. We met at the Coureur des bois, at the Château Frontenac. But not for long because everyone was super tired following this long day, ”adds Pierre Morrissette to TVA Nouvelles.

If usually the entourage of the pope is made up of men, surprisingly, in the cockpit, the pilot of the plane of the Holy Father is a woman! The rest of the group is made up of cabin crew and support staff.

“For them, flying on this plane is an honor. Each time they come on board, they are blessed by the pope”, specifies Mr. Morissette.

The aircraft is an Airbus A330, which can carry up to 400 passengers for commercial flights according to the manufacturer, but several arrangements are possible, and we bet that the Pope’s is very special.

In order to welcome the Holy Father, a lifting platform specially adapted for wheelchairs has been provided for the arrival of the plane.

Against all expectations, the pope stood up straight and did not need his chair, as evidenced by a rare photo taken from this angle yesterday on the apron of Jean-Lesage airport.
