TO SEE | Deadly shooting in Paris: protesters and police clash

Police used tear gas to disperse Kurdish protesters on Friday near a Kurdish cultural center in central Paris in front of which a man killed three people at midday, an AFP journalist noted.

These incidents began when the crowd ran into a cordon of security forces protecting French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin, who came to the scene to provide an update on the investigation and to speak to journalists.

The security forces fired tear gas canisters at the demonstrators, who in turn threw projectiles in their direction, burned garbage cans and erected barricades in the street.

Clashes were still in progress shortly before 5:00 p.m.
